چکیده
We warmly thank Randelli and coworkers for their interest in our work.1 Our randomised, pragmatic, controlled trial compared surgical non-surgical treatments rotator cuff disease (RCD) with or without full-thickness tendon tears after unsuccessful initial rehabilitation.2 Randelli commented that the power of study lies fact potential eligible patients underwent a systematic, adequately performed 3-month rehabilitation, which only who remained symptomatic were randomised; we agree. Symptoms alleviated 102 417 shoulders chronic RCD (mean duration symptoms 9 months before recruitment) during 3 month, pragmatic nonoperative treatment. This indicates conservative management should be carried out all considering treatment tear. Randelli criticised us not reporting baseline characteristics prespecified subgroups (RCD rupture). They also noted while 25% …

متن کاملRehabilitation after Rotator Cuff Repair
BACKGROUND Rotator cuff tears are a very common condition that is often incapacitating. Whether non-surgical or surgical, successful management of rotator cuff disease is dependent on appropriate rehabilitation. If conservative management is insufficient, surgical repair is often indicated. Postsurgical outcomes for patients having had rotator cuff repair can be quite good. A successful outcome...
متن کاملFour-year follow-up of surgical versus non-surgical therapy for chronic low back pain
OBJECTIVES To compare the long-term effectiveness of surgical and non-surgical treatment in patients with chronic low back pain. METHODS Two merged randomised clinical trials compared instrumented transpedicular fusion with cognitive intervention and exercises in 124 patients with disc degeneration and at least 1 year of symptoms after or without previous surgery for disc herniation. The main...
متن کاملPlatelet rich plasma in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: a prospective RCT study, 2-year follow-up.
HYPOTHESIS Local application of autologous platelet rich plasma (PRP) improves tendon healing in patients undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. STUDY DESIGN Prospective, randomized, controlled, double blind study; considering an alpha level of 5%, a power of 80%, 22 patients for group are needed. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifty-three patients who underwent shoulder arthroscopy for the re...

f p q r a j t he purpose of this study was to assess arthroscopic epair of rotator cuff tears at a minimum of 2 years ostoperatively with both patient-derived and objective utcome measures, including the use of magnetic resoance imaging (MRI), to evaluate repair status. Evaluted were 49 shoulders in 47 consecutive patients. he American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score, onstant and Murley score...
